Dorothy A. Contreras “Mot” died at her home in Lander Wednesday night, Aug. 10, 2011, at the age of 74.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be 12:00 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Living Waters Fellowship in Lander.
Dorothy Alice Ames was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sunday, March 7, 1937, the daughter of William Arthur Ames and Martha Pauline (Furr) Ames.
Mrs. Contreras was a homemaker, having married Melisio Sierra Contreras in Alta Loma, Calif., in April 8, 1982
She lived in California for 42 years and had lived in Lander for the past three years.
Mrs. Contreras attended the Living Waters Fellowship and participated at the Senior Center.
Her family said she loved to sew and do arts and crafts, enjoyed nature, especially birds and butterflies, and was a collector of angels of all types, shapes and sizes.
Survivors include her son, Curtis Lacey of Fort Smith, Ark.; daughter, Jean Ortega of Lander; grandchildren, Caitlin and husband Michael Cope and Christopher Lacey; great grandson, Cole Cope; a brother, Charles Ames and his wife Dorothy of Joplin, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice or the Living Waters Fellowship, in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
