Memorial services for Kenneth E. "Albert" Walters, Jr., of Riverton are at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, at the B.P.O. Elks Lodge in downtown Riverton. Cremation has taken place.

Mr. Walters died at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at the age of 58.

Kenneth Eugene Walters, Jr., was born in Riverton on Oct. 28, 1952, the son of Kenneth Eugene Walters, Sr., and Dorothy Ann (Woodward) Walters. He was graduated from Riverton High School with the Class of 1971.

He married LaVonne Marie Melaney at Boysen Reservoir on July 30, 1989.

Mr. Walters worked as a liquor store manager for Bob Woodward at Riverton Discount Liquor. He had started his working career as a Riverton newspaper carrier and also worked at various other businesses in the community.

His family said that in his younger days, Mr. Walters liked to hunt, fish, camp, swim, and party with his friends. They said he taught his eldest daughter to spell "Denver Broncos" when she was three years old. The family said his daughters and grandchildren brought his greatest joy.

Mr. Walters twice served as Exalted Ruler of the Riverton Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne Marie Walters of Riverton; daughters, Megan Fish of Spokane, Wash., Gwenith and Ryan Redfern of Riverton, and Leona Hiebert of Riverton; grandchildren, Kelly, Keenen and Madelyn; his parents, Kenneth and Dorothy Walters of Riverton; sisters, Debbie Smartt and her husband Johnny, and Linda Kirby and her husband Scott; nieces and nephews, Theresa, Mindy, Michael John, Matthew, and Chelsea; an uncle, Bob Woodward and his wife Janice of Riverton; numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Annie Woodward and Henry and Edna Walters.
