John V. Kelsey, 63, of Lander died at Morning Star Manor at Fort Washakie on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012. Memorial Mass is at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander with the Rev. Father David Erickson officiating. Cremation has taken place. John Vincent Kelsey was born to Vincent J. Kelsey and Catherine (Monahan) Kelsey on May 6, 1948. He was graduated from high school in Manasquan, N.J., where he served as Student Council president, was an all-star pitcher on the baseball team, and earned two outstanding leadership awards. Mr. Kelsey was a member of, and active in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lander. He lived in Vermont, and Connecticut, coming to Lander 12 years ago. He was a caregiver for the state of Wyoming, devoting his life to the mentally handicapped. For more than 20 years, he provided 24-hour care in his home. Survivors include five brothers Arthur Kelsey of Springlake, N.J., Paul Kelsey of Ensenada, Calif., Bob Kelsey of Belmar, N.J., Greg Kelsey of Ocean Grove N.J., and Tom Kelsey of Springlake, N.J.; a sister, Kathleen Kelsey of Belmar, N.J. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Mathew; a sister, Maureen, and his parents. Memorial donations to The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 163 Leedy Drive, Lander, Wy. 82520, would be appreciated by his Family.
