David R. Mitchell, 61 of Riverton and Lander, died of cancer on Thursday morning, May 3, 2012, at the Lander Medical Center.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
David R. Mitchell was born on Friday, Aug. 18, 1950. He grew up in Ely, Nev., graduating from high school there.
He was a 33-year resident of Fremont County.
Mr. Mitchell was an operating room nurse for the Riverton and Lander hospitals. He retired from the Lander Regional Hospital in January of 2012.
Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Lander V.F.W.
His family said he enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, and especially loved his cats.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by his brother, Daniel Mitchell; sisters, Donna Mitchell and Pauline Francis; numerous nieces, and nephews.
