Joseph C. Bushyhead, 57 of Fort Washakie, died at the Lander Regional Hospital on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 25, at St. Stephens with interment following at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at Arapahoe. A Rosary is at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton with a second Rosary at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, at the family home, 704 Tinebea, Fort Washakie. A wake follows the rosary. Joseph Charles Bushyhead was born in Riverton on Feb. 19, 1955, the son of James Joseph Bushyhead and Theresa (Goodman) Bushyhead. He attended the Arapahoe School. He made his home in the Arapahoe and Fort Washakie areas of the Wind River Indian Reservation. He married Cecelia N. Washington in Lander on Aug. 4, 1985. Mr. Bushyhead was a custodian at the Arapahoe School. He was of the Catholic faith and practiced American Indian ways. His family said he enjoyed going to the casino, beading, riding around, spending time with his grandchildren, playing bingo, playing basketball, listening to music, and watching movies. Mr. Bushyhead is survived by his wife, Cecelia N. Bushyhead of Fort Washakie; sons, Charles Norman Bushyhead and Lynn Edward Smith; daughter, Natasha Rose Ynostrosa; grandchildren, Carter Hillan, Jacilyn Smith, Tracy Jon Sky Preacher, Snow Angel Ynostrosa, Unborn Ynostrosa, Courtney LaFranier, Alonzo Hanaweeke, Vinton Hanaweeke, Jr., Bradon Hanaweeke, Marcelen Tinno, Dwight Tinno, Byron Nipwater, and Kyle Nipwater; great grandchildren; Quiles Tinno and Naveah Tinno; brothers, John Bushyhead, Sr., and his wife Matilda, Mervin Bushyhead, and Stanford Bushyhead, Sr.; sisters, Margaret Washington and her husband Francis, Frances Dewey, and Madeline Spoonhunter; brothers-in-law, Tim Tyler, Eddie Rodrigous, Bruce Alvarez, Darrell Hutchinson and family, and Wayne Perdash; sisters-in-law, Myra Washington and family, Eula Tyler and family, Anita Alvarez and family; aunts, Helen Talksdifferent and family, Katherine LongKnife and family, Bernadette Lodge and family, Roberta Werk and family, Liz Whitecow and family, and Helen Hanway and family; nephews, Mitchell Stacey and daughters, James Gardner, Sr. and family, Marcus Gardner, Sr., and family, Tom Bushyhead and family, John Bushyhead, Jr., and Cheryl and family, Stanford Bushyhead, Jr., and family, and Steven Bushyhead; nieces, Serena Gardner and family, Teresa Bushyhead and children, Kristina Bushyhead and family, Jessica and Lonnie Stewart and family, Tashena and Jaron and Terran and family, GoodRider Ynostrosa, Normalee Tinno and family, Maiden and Bam Sequints and family, Roxanne Rose Tinno, Felicia Alvarez and son Bryson Alvarez, and Patty Alvarez and family; close friends, Lonnie Stewart, Jr., Joe Addison, and Alfred Norah.
