Darlene O. Sherek, 64, of Riverton died Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Riverton Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Vernon Boehlke will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Odalen Lutheran Church County Cemetery in the family plot near Edinburg, North Dakota.
Darlene Olivia Rustan was born December 30, 1947 to Vernon and Stella (Bjerke) Rustan in Grafton, North Dakota. Darlene grew up and graduated High School in Edinburg, North Dakota where she helped her family farm.
Following graduation she moved to Grafton where she worked for North Western Bell Telephone Company.
On June 23, 1967 she married Wendell F. Sherek at the St. John’s Catholic Church in Grafton, N.D.
She worked in the local drug store in Oaks, ND, and helped her husband working in the Anthony’s Clothing Stores in Ellendale and Oaks, ND. They moved from Oaks, ND to Douglas, Wyoming in June of 1987, moved to Lander in May of 1988 and to Riverton in 1991.
Darlene and her husband enjoyed attending Trinity Lutheran Church where they were members.
Darlene enjoyed crafts, being outdoors, traveling, and earlier in life when her health allowed she enjoyed doing yard work.
She is survived by her husband Wendell of 45 years; four sisters, LaVonne Narlock her husband Syl of Warren, MN, Sandi Samuelson of Park River, ND, Lynda Raumin and husband Roger of Grafton, ND; Judy Oswoski and husband Tony of Minto, ND; two brothers-in-law, Bob Sherek and wife Nancy of Chula Vista, Calif. and Roger Sherek of Grafton, ND; sister-in-law, Pat Bellurd and husband Darryl of Winlock, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School in care of the Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
