Alice Kucera, 85, formally of Riverton, died on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in Henderson, NV. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 10:00 am at Davis Funeral Home with inurnment following at Mountain View Cemetery.

Alice Marie Ellefson was born on February 11, 1929 in Rogers, ND to Richard and Vera (Vitalis) Ellefson. She was one of twelve children, five brothers and six sisters. She grew up in Rogers, North Dakota. She earned her Nursing Degree form Ancker Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.

She was of the Catholic faith.

On February 3, 1951 she married Wallace Kucera in Lincoln, NE. Together they raised six boys. They moved from Lead SD in 1964 to Riverton where she and her husband, a doctor, both worked in the medical field for a number of years. She moved from Riverton to Henderson, NV in 2010 and remained there until her passing.

She was a Registered Nurse for Riverton Memorial Hospital, Fremont Manor (Wind River Health Care) and Wyoming State Retirement Home in Basin, WY.

She was a den mother for cub scouts, member of Riverton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, ran for the State Legislature, and was a School District 25 board member in the early 1970’s.

Her family said she enjoyed quilting, card games, gardening, collecting antiques (coins and glassware) and all sports, especially the Colorado Rockies Baseball.

She is survived by her sons, Dave (Linda) Kucera of Casper, WY, Mark (Jill) Kucera of Cheyenne, WY, Craig (Jolene) Kucera of Riverton, WY, and Jeff (Debra) Kucera of Gillette, WY; her brother, Gary Ellefson; her sisters, Joan Vance, Lorna Hunt, and Helen Pesek; her thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Vera Ellefson; her husband, Dr. Wallace Kucera; her sons, Bruce Kucera and Paul Kucera; and her great granddaughters, Kimberly and Emma Kucera.
