Marian Ambrose, 74 of Riverton, died on Wednesday, September 02, 2015, at Sage West Healthcare-Riverton. A rosary will be recited on Friday, September 4, 2015, at 7:00 pm at Davis Funeral Home. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at 10:00 am at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church with Father Hiep Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Marian Christine Elaine Welsko was born on October 26, 1940 in Hazleton, PA to Joseph Xavier and Anna (Danko) Welsko. She grew up in Freeland, PA and graduated high school there. She then attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA where she received her Nursing Certificate.
She was baptized into the Catholic Faith and was a very active member St. Margaret’s Catholic Church.
In 1965 she married Andrew “Andy” John Ambrose in Lewisburg, PA. Together they lived all over Europe, Asia, and many places in the U.S.A. as Andy was in the military.
In 1978 after Andy retired from the military, the family moved to Riverton where they raised their two children. She worked as the Head Nurse for the orthopedic clinic in Riverton for 15 years before she retired.
She belonged to the Red Hat Society, the Ti –Chee women’s exercise group, and participated in many other activities in the community.
Her family said that she was a cooking expert and liked to collect angels of all kinds.
She is survived by her husband, Andy Ambrose of the family home; her son, Andrew Ambrose of Newcastle, WY; her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Greg Nicholas of Boise, ID and her granddaughter, Emily Nichols of Casper, WY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Welsko.
