Darrell Eugene Gabel was born in Billings, Montana on September 10, 1948. He was the first born child of Richard W. Gabel and Fay (Harding) Gabel. Darrell passed away peacefully on September 6, 2015 surrounded by his family.

He attended West High School in Billings, MT as well as the Rocky Mountain College to further his business education. He married Terry L. Wallace in 1967 and they had three children, Edward, William and Tina.

Darrell Started in the movie theatre business in 1969 with T.O.I Theatre and continued on with T.O.I until 1986 when he purchased the Grand Theatre and Diane Drive In located in Lander, WY. In 1990 he also purchased the Acme and Gem theatres in Riverton, WY. He also married Robynn Dupler on May 12, 1986.

Darrell’s passions in life outside of the theatre business were drag racing, being a car enthusiast, fishing, bowling, auto mechanics and being father to five and grandfather to sixteen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Gabel and mother, Fay (Harding) Gabel.

He is survived by his sons, Edward Gabel, William Gabel, his daughter, Tina (Gabel) Sant, his brother, Terry Gabel, his sister, Janine DeLay, two step daughters, Novara Marburger, Desiree Born and wife, Robynn.

He was a long time member of the Evangelical Free Church of Lander. Service will be held at the Evangelical Free Church of Lander in Lander, WY on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 1:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to the Hereditary Colon Cancer Foundation in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
