Earl Shaw, 88, of Riverton, died at Sage West Healthcare-Riverton on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks, October 31 at 2:00 pm. All family and friends are invited to share memories.

Earl F. Shaw was born on December 19, 1926 in Oshkosh, NE to Marion Francis and Elsa Josephine (Shindle) Shaw. He grew up in Nebraska and attended schools there.

On December 12, 1945, he joined the U.S. Army and served during World War II, where he earned the Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal while serving in Germany. He was honorably discharged on December 17, 1946. He returned to his home state of Nebraska then moved to Wheatland, WY in 1950.

He married Lila J. Davis on September 15, 1959. They moved their family to Riverton, WY 1967 where they raised their four children and made it their permanent home.

He was a Master Metal Fabricator and built custom trailers. He also built custom flagpoles that have been installed around the state flying the flag that he loved.

He was a life time member of the V.F. W., the B.P.O.E., F.O.E. and American Legion.

He is survived by his sons, Timothy A. Shaw and his wife, Connie and Casey E. Shaw and his wife, Kim; his daughters, Tricia Burwell and her companion, Ben Darnall, and Tina Shaw and her companion, Jimmy Drake; his companion, Peggy Knight and her children, Tim Brown, Patty Brogdon, Tammy Inman and her grandchildren; his brother, Danny Shaw; his sisters, Donna, Helen, Dorothy, and Jean; and his four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Along with 7 brother-in-law’s and three sister-in-law’s.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Elsa Shaw; his wife, Lila Shaw; his brother William Shaw; his sisters, Lurean and Mary; one brother-in-law and three sister-in-law’s.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Children Hospital in lieu of flowers in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
