Tawsha Jenkins, 36, of St. Stephen’s died on Friday, April 8, 2016, at the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. A rosary and wake will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Great Plains Hall. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Great Plains Hall. Burial will follow at Sharpnose Cemetery.

Tawsha Jean Jenkins was born March 1, 1980 in Riverton, WY. daughter of Larry and Alvina Blackburn biological dad: Kevin Jenkins, Sr. and She was a lifetime resident of the Wind River Reservation. She attended schools at St. Stephen’s and Anadarko-Riverside. She received her degree in Literature from Central Wyoming College.

She was of the Catholic faith and also the Native American Church.

She worked in retail stores and most recently she was employed at the Wind River Casino in the housekeeping department.

She enjoyed all types of crafts, going to the casino, and interacting on Facebook.

She is survived by her sons, Santana Mendoza, Ryder Jenkins, and Bluestone Jenkins; mother, Alvina Blackburn; grandchild, Santianna Mendoza; father, Kevin Jenkins, Sr.;grandparents, Ruby Blackburn, Violet Carlson, Charlotte Lonedog, and Sandra Headley; brothers, Kevin (Dawn) Jenkins, Jr., Shane Blackburn, Mykel Miller, Brandon Jenkins, Isaac Jenkins, and Jesse Cohea; sisters, Jocelyn (Shane) Brown, Katrina (Kevin) Washakie, Sr., Desirae Caldwell, Nicole Addison, Aldajean Garcia, Lupe Sitting Eagle, and Teryl Myhre; nephews, Julien Antelope, Kevin Washakie, Jr., Elvis Washakie, Talon Washakie, Jonathan Dewey, Kayden Brown, Tyrel Myhre, Jason Myhre, Jr., Isreal Dewey and Tyrone Sunrhodes; and nieces, Pretty Washakie, Lillian Washakie, Shyla Washakie, Alize Gould, Christina Brown, Shayni Brown, Brianna Brown, Jasmine Trejo, Galateya Trejo, Amelia Grace, and RyLee Brown.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Chelsie Blackburn; father, Larry Blackburn; grandparents, Elizur Dewey, Florita Jenkins, Maxine Dewey and Richard Lonedog; great grandfather, George Jenkins; and aunts, Lisa Jenkins and Karla Jenkins.
