Funeral Mass for Ernest P. "Crack" Jenkins of Arapahoe will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery at St. Stephen's. There will be a rosary at the church at 7:30 p.m. Monday followed by a wake at 1508 Elmwood Drive, Beaver Creek housing. Mr. Jenkins died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was 32. Ernest Paul Jenkins was born in Riverton on Oct. 5, 1975, the son of Isaac James Jenkins and Valerie June (Oldman) Friday. He was a life-long resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation. He attended St. Stephen's Indian School for his elementary education, Riverton Middle School, and Riverside Indian High School in Anadarko, OK. He worked on various construction jobs. Mr. Jenkins was of the Catholic faith. He participated in the traditional ways and his family said he held respect for the elders and his Indian people. The family said he enjoyed playing basketball with his nephews and friends, enjoyed the Native American cultures, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his companion, Samantha Littleshield of Riverton; sons, Taylor Littleshield and Chase Washakie; god son, Elijah Littleshield; daughters, Alissa Bell, Adrienne and Rose Dewey, Anastasia Jenkins, Tianah Farris Jenkins, Naliaah C'Bearing, Ali Dale C'Bearing, Shaylissa Engavo, Marcel Oldman, Caddy Washakie, Rosalina Littleshield, and Summer Oldman; his mother, Valerie J. Friday; Sundance grandfather, John Headley; grandparents, Avangeline Mead, Sophie Oldman, Flossie Brown, Theresa White, Wayne and Reuben Jenkins, Buddy Oldman, and Lydia Jenkins; brothers, Steven C. Oldman, Sr., Curtis Oldman, Sr., Arapahoe Oldman, Sr., Marcus Oldman, Marcus Gardner, Lloyd Oldman, Jason Oldman, Sr.; sisters, Chrystal Dewey, Tina Jenkins, Danelle Friday, April Friday, Irene Jenkins, Kathy Jenkins, Veronica Jenkins, and Serena Gardner; numerous nieces and nephews, and five great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maria Oldman; grandfather, Larry Oldman, Sr.; father, Isaac Jenkins; step-father, Leonard Friday; nephews, Donovan "Bonez" Blackburn and Joshua Dewey; daughter, Morning Star Dewey; brothers, Royce Killsontop and Russell Oldman; grandparents, Ernest and Nellie Hanway, Jason and Virginia Oldman, and George and Clarise Jenkins.
