Long-time Riverton resident Virginia Bogrett died on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Morning Star Manor at Fort Washakie. She was 72.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, at St. John Lutheran Church, 606 North 8th West, Riverton.

Lunch will be served following the service.

Virginia Moss was born on Oct. 24, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of John and Caroline Moss.

She moved from Iowa to Dubois in 1946 where she worked and attended school. For her last year of high school, she moved to Casper and was graduated from Natrona County High School.

In December of 1952, she married Jere Bogrett of Riverton. They were stationed in various places while Mr. Bogrett served with the U.S. Navy.

In 1954, they moved to Red Lodge, Mont., and bought a business. Two of their five children -- Laurie and Bruce -- were born in Red Lodge.

They moved to Riverton in 1959, buying the Lee's Cleaners. In the ensuing years their other three children were born -- Sharee, Korin, and Kent.

Mr. and Mrs. Bogrett were partners in the business for 48 years, retiring in 1994.

Her family said Mrs. Bogrett loved fine things, fulfilled through her passion for collecting antiques and through her culinary skills. She loved cooking, entertaining, and playing bridge with a group of very close friends. They said she felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her five children.

Mrs. Bogrett is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jere Bogrett of Riverton; two sons, Bruce Bogrett and wife Shelley of Riverton, and Kent Bogrett and wife Stephanie of Longmont, Colo.; three daughters, Laurie Bogrett of Columbus, Mont., Sharee Weron and husband Rich of Laramie, and Korin Bartels and husband Larry of Hastings, Neb.; 14 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother, and her mother- and father-in-law.

Memorials may be made to the Special K Ranch, PO Box 479, Columbus, MT 59019-0479, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
