Pete Ouray, 29, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away at his home on Sunday, March 17, 2024. A vigil service with a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024 with wake immediately following at Karen Spoonhunter Brown’s residence, 4 Northern Arapaho Road, Arapahoe, Wyoming.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at the Aragon Cemetery in Kinnear, WY.

 

Pete Cotoan Ouray was born September 6, 1994 in Shiprock, New Mexico to Bryan and Alvina Ouray. Pete grew up in Fremont County attending Wyoming Indian Elementary until 6th grade then on to Wind River High School where he graduated with the class of 2012. He attended Montana State College and the University of Wyoming. He has lived in Riverton for the last nine years.

 

Pete was a self-employed entrepreneur as a Product Tester.

 

He liked gaming, reading, was a card and shoe collector and puzzle master, as well as a computer whiz. He was a great “Cat Dad” to Jamie, Sylvi, and Kitty.

 

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Alvina and Rudolph Apodaca; father, Bryan Ouray; sister, Singing Pinetree Phoenix Ouray; and the families of Lee, Spoonhunter-Brown and Aragon.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold A. Ouray and Albert E. Lee; grandmothers, Karen Spoonhunter Brown and Glenda Ned; aunt, Lenora Lee, and cousin, Shanoah Lee.
