Robert (Bob) LeRoy Kraus, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather passed away on April 8th, 2024, in Lander, Wyoming during the solar eclipse and at that moment the world got a little darker with his passing.

Bob was born November 7, 1930 to David and Alvina Heil Kraus, in Lyman Wyoming.  Bob was raised in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School in 1950.

Bob led his life with values of hard work, integrity, and love for family. He was the beloved husband of Muriel Garfield Kraus for almost 72 years, and the loving father of three sons; Rick (Christy), Eric (Karen), and Mike (Julie); seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Bob's life was marked by his love of horses, softball and baseball, and dedication to his various roles as a farmer and rancher.  He was a pioneer in the early days of the uranium boom in the Gas Hills. He poured his heart into providing for his family and contributing to his community.

Bob’s strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all that he pursued. A distinguished veteran, Bob proudly served his country in the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force. His bravery and sacrifice will forever be remembered and honored by his grateful nation.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bob was cherished by all who knew him for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering support. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love and dedication lives on in the hearts of those he touched.
