Errol G. Sturdevant

Errol G. Sturdevant, 73, died at his home in Pavillion on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services will be held. Errol Gene Sturdevant was born in Borger, Texas, on Aug. 25, 1937, the son of Ival and Feryl (Bolen) Sturdevant. They family moved to Wyoming in the early 1940s and he spent the majority of his childhood and teenage years on the Lower Nowood, north of Ten Sleep. After being graduated from high school, Mr. Sturdevant worked for several Ten Sleep area ranchers. Later he became involved in construction and worked in the Riverton and Atlantic City areas. In the 1960s, with his brothers, he moved to the West Coast where he was employed for many years as a welder at paper mills and nuclear power plants. Upon retirement, Mr. Sturdevant moved back to Wyoming, building a shop and home in Pavillion. His family said he spent many hours working on his property and projects around his place. Mr. Sturdevant is survived by three siblings, Delores Brown and husband Jerry, twin brother Bobby Sturdevant, and Vasca Gilmore and husband Charles; numerous nephews and nieces, and great nephews and great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ival and Feryl Sturdevant; six siblings, Buddy Sturdevant, Royce "Dean" Sturdevant, Jack Sturdevant, Keith Sturdevant, Eugene Sturdevant, and June Sturdevant.
