Ross Pliley, Jr., died at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin on Thursday evening, Jan. 20, 2011, at the age of 76. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. No services are planned at this time. Ross Pliley, Jr., was born in Crawford, Neb., on June 26, 1934, the son of Ross Davison Pliley, Sr. and Evangeline (Ratliff) Pliley. He was graduated from Crawford (Neb.) High School with the Class of 1952. He grew up in Crawford and served with the U.S. Army. He lived in Casper and then Helena, Mont., for a few years where he worked as a professional house painter. Mr. Pliley was a surveyor who worked for U.S. Energy for 15 years and for Bob's Sanitary Supply for five years. His family said Mr. Pliley enjoyed gun collecting and enjoyed hunting in his younger years. Survivors include his brothers, Bob Pliley and his wife Judy of West Valley City, Utah., and Gary Pliley and his wife Mary Beth of Ensenada, Mexico.
