Daniel P. 'Mike' Svilar

Svilar, Daniel P. "Mike"

Mike was like an wonderful, close uncle to me and the best friend of my late father. We have always considered him part of our family. I will miss his special presence in my life and the life of our family. He was a trusted confident, friend, mentor and substitute dad at times. I am so sorry to not have him in my world any longer. I hope his family knows how much Mike and all them mean to my family. We feel like all of you, are part of all of us. I adore Danny and Nick and hope they will always stay in touch. I am always here for you if you need me, just as your father was there for me and my family. Dessie, Eli, Nick,Ruby and all the rest of you, my prayers and thougts are with each of you and your loved ones. A bright shining star is no longer in our lives. I was able to feel much better in his passing with the knowledge that dad would be waiting for his best lifelong friend. I could just imagine him saying, "Mike, welcome buddy, come on, I've got something to show you". Blessings, blessings, blessings to all of us who will have to go on, be better people, as he was, and know that now he and my dad are both looking over us. Much love, Lisa Herron

Statements of loss and regret for our friend Mike Svilar will be multitudinous, because Mike was a friend of everybody, at least in Wyoming. It was always fun and enjoyable to meet him. He was an excellent trial lawyer, but became more noted as a savvy business man and entrepreneur in his work for U.S. Energy, in the course of which he became a world traveler. But with all his attainments, he never forgot his beginning in Hudson and his distinguished family at Svilars, of which he was always proud. It is sad to mark his passing for he was always a leader in the uranium business and a splendid representative of Hudson and Fremont County.

Dear Friends,
So sorry to hear of the loss of this wonderful man to our community. Watching him raise his boys while they went to Ashgrove School was a delight. He was kind, compassionate, and cared so deeply about his children. He would do anything he could for them. He wanted so much for them to have more success than even he had. He was definitely a family person. He was so kind to the staff --invited the boys' teachers out every year for a wonderful dinner. He really knew how to thank people! What a talented, bright person, and his children should be so thankful to have had such a dad. I know you all are hurting so much right now, and you are in our thoughts & prayers.

Kathleen, Danny, and Nick,

I just wanted to let you know we are praying for you. I don't remember Mike not being around our families. I'm blessed to have been able to visit with him in the past 4 years again, working here in the office with him. He always had time to visit, and made sure he asked about all the rest of my family when he did.

His boys were his life here. He was always speaking about what they were up to, and what was going on with them. It was amazing how involved he was up to the end. Last conversation I had with him was about Nick.

Just wanted you to know that after all these years of Knowing Mike he was always consistent! Always honorable to me.

God's Blessing to you all.

To the Family:
I'm sorry to hear about Mike's passing. His friendship had several major impacts on my life, from my coming to the USA as a 18 year old boy and staying with him in Hudson and getting to know Mama, Sophie and Red, to traveling to China and the Philippines with him in later years. He was always a blast to be around, and I'll remember him fondly.

Good-by Uncle Mike. Thank you for your wonderful friendship, your great love for life and all you have done for so many all of your life. I will always remember our dinners together. With much love to your family and wishing all peace, your friend, Cale

Cale Case - 12/3/2012

You will always be 'Uncle Mike' to me and I will miss your humor and your smile. I will miss seeing you in Grandma and Grandpa's kitchen, having a little breakfast. I will miss you always coming to hotels around the country and telling the front desk that you need a free room because I am your niece. Surely you are having a good laugh with my Grandpa Jack...looking back on your lives. My heart aches...but knowing we will all see each other again, on the other side, is something I look forward to. You will be greatly missed!

Sending hugs to heaven and sending hugs to your family here...I wish them peace and comfort in their time of mourning.

Love
Sonja

We were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing and figure that he will be practicing before the Heavenly Courtroom above. We feel fortunate that we got to know Mike during the three and one/half years that Ron worked for him and Randy Boyer and for all the contacts with him after 1979. We always remember that he never failed to buy each table a bottle of wine at the Fremont County Bar Association Christmas party and he will be sorely missed at this year's party. We won't forget his kind and friendly nature and know that each of you miss him now and forever. We will keep him and all of you in our prayers. May God Bless him and you.

The Svilar Family,

I grew up with little Danny, and Kathleen. I am so sorry for your loss, but he was an extraordinary man and I always had the greatest respect for him.

Anita Roman - 12/4/2012

Mike Svilar was a friend of mine and I will miss him. He has left a large footprint on this earth; his own niche carved somewhere in a rock that will remain forever. H.W. Beecher said "What the heart has once owned and had, it shall never lose." And though we will mourn the loss of our friend, father, brother, uncle, think of the others behind the veil who are rejoicing to see him again. It will be a grand reunion for Momma and Pappa Svilar, Big Red, Sophie and the rest.
The best thing I can say about Mike is that whenever I think about him, there will be a smile on my lips and a warm feeling in my heart.

Chris Hernandez - 12/4/2012

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Mike.
He was a wonderful man with a generous heart.
It was always a delight when he would stop by the
Post Office to say "hi". He will be greatly missed.

Beverly & Willard Raymond - 12/4/2012

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Mike. He had a presence about him that got your attention when he entered the room. I knew him for many years and look back at those times and feel lucky to have known him, as an Attorney and a friend. I also remember watching him play basketball, which he was so good at. Mike was the type of person who loved life and the people around him and it showed.

He will be missed by so many. Again, my condolences to all of Mike's family.
