I worked with "Van" at First National Bank. His work ethics were second to none. He was a great inspiration to those of us who were new in banking at that time. Van had a large following of dedicated customers who would see only Van for their banking business.
I visited Van a few times at the nursing home and at Hospice. He always knew who I was and we had good conversations.
My most sincere prayers and sympathy to Van's son's and their families.
God be with you Van.

Bob was a great man. I loved talking to him about hunting, Wyoming, and all sorts of small talk. I could talk to him for days and not get tired of it. I hope one day I can shoot an Elk while in my 90's. If I do I know Bob will be smiling down at me, and I'll be smiling up at him!!

Dr.Bob and Dr. Vicky,
Praying that the love of your family and friends around you provide comfort and the love of God fills you and gives you peace.
Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time of loss.
Bob was always so supportive of the people he worked with, and always remembered, and followed our families, after he retired. He was a good, thoughtful person, and will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I have always found comfort in this poem and hope it can bring the same to you.

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free!
Miss me a little - but not for long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me, but let me go.
For this journey that we all must take
And each must go alone;
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss me, but let me go.

To Chuck & Christa, Bob & Vicky and family, Yvonne and I send our sincere condolences to all of you at this time of Uncle Bob's passing. We are praying for you and the family as you are entering into the funeral service tomorrow. We know the Bob is now is the presence of God the Father and our Savior The Lord Jesus Christ. His hope is now sight. We pray that you will feel God's presence through out tomorrow and into the future. I will miss Uncle Bob as my memories take me back to the days as a child on the farm in Tomah. When I would speak to Uncle Bob on the phone in later years, he would always remind me about the times I would ask him to shoot the bird, that is shooting pigeons off the roof of the barn. I guess you had to be there to enjoy that joke we had together. We pray that all goes well tomorrow and may God bless each of you and your families.

With much love,

Nephew Robert Clyde Vandervort and Yvonne Vandervort

Your father was such a nice person, good to do business with and a good friend and neighbor. He will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathy and condolences.

Kind thoughts to the family of Van,
Robert was our 'family' banker and indeed my entire large family only banked with him. When I bought my first car he kindly explained how to qualify and then he helped me fill out all the necessary paperwork, making the whole process so easy for a young person. When I told other family members how helpful he had been I found he had done similar things for all of them. Talk about service. In later years when I would see him about in town he always remembered me, my folks and for that matter the whole family.
Go with God Robert "Van" Vandervort.
