Lloyd Haack

Haack, Lloyd

Lloyd was a very intersting man. We had several conversations both at John Deere in Riverton and at his home in Dubois. He loved his tractor and equipment I sold him. He showed me all of his projects he had going around the homestead. Rest in Peace Mr. Haack.

As a child, I kind  of idolized my Grandpa but being a child, I didn't have the emotional intelligence, experience, or wisdom to really appreciate the depths that made him the person I admired so much. I only knew that he was my grandpa and made me feel special and I thought he was really special! I told him in grade school  I would be a stock broker just like him. I wanted to be exactly like him! As I grew into an adult, my life shaped by my own experiences and subsequently perspective deepened. I could relate more to  my childhood 'idol', Grandpa, and get to know him on a whole new level. For me, that was very meaningful and brought me so much closer to my grandpa.

It was music to my ears when grandpa would tell Conrad how much he reminded him of himself. I felt so happy and proud.  It was a sweet gift from God.

My childhood 'wonder and awe' never fully dissipated...

Throughout my 13 years at my firm, there have been a couple times when clients would see my name and ask if I was related to Lloyd Haack. They would tell me stories about his core days, engine buying, or how they knew my grandma and grandpa from the golf course.  I'd go back and tell Grandpa and Dad. I would say ..'Hey, Grandpa, you gotta hear this.." and it would always be a good story with hours of conversation to follow. I cherish those stories and feel more connected to his life.

For the time he spent with me as a child, as an adult; for the hours he invested conversations and investing  time together, thank you, Grandpa! I love you! Your legacy and name will continue thru many more generations by your great grandson, Conrad Edward Haack.
We will miss you but you will forever be remembered, cherished and admired with wonder and awe!

Dad, I loved our time we spent together during your last visit at our home. Your genuine love and concern for me about my health meant a lot to me. When I think of you I will always remember your smile and how happy you were. I love you and will miss you. See you again on day in heaven ❤️.

Dad you were an awesome father and took such great care of me. You were a great mentor and always gave good advice and direction to me. I will continue to be a good father, grandfather and mentor to all in my seasons of life I have left to encourage and bring out the best in them as you have done with me. I will miss you greatly untill we meet again.

I can't say enough how I loved Lloyd and Chichi. They were the nicest people I had ever meet. I looked forward to seeing them every week at the landfill. They brought joy to my life. In fact they brought joy to everyone that they meet. It was hard to watch Chichi, not get better but I wouldn't take anything for that time with both of them. We had some really good times and memories for sure! I can see them all celebrating in heaven. Lloyd you will be missed. Prayers for family and friends! 🙏❤️
