Elmer “Fudd” Zenisek, passed away on Tuesday April 4th, 2017 in Dubois, at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 pm on July 1st at the Dubois VFW, and his ashes will be scattered with Toots after the ceremony

He was born and grew up in Antigo Wisconsin, the son of Anthony & Regina Zenisek.

Elmer enlisted in the Airforce after high school and served from July, 1948 thru July 1952 where he earned an honorable discharge. Elmer was a proud veteran during the Korean War. Elmer was active in the VFW and took any of his many roles seriously within that organization. He was a proud and patriotic veteran, he always stood up for the rights of all veterans and people that served the United States of America a County that he loved so much.

Elmer moved to Dubois in the early 50’s and began to work as a truck driver hauling tie hacks to the Riverton Sawmill. Elmer also got into construction where he did countless projects in and around Dubois. Some of Fudd and Toots’s accomplishments were to start EZ Construction, they owned and operated a local bar the Branding Iron and he even ran a local Skidoo dealership for several years. Elmer and Toot’s success in any business or organization they were a part of can be attributed to their strong work ethic.

He and Toots were active snowmobilers and part of the Wyoming Sourdougher’s Club for many years. He was even named Snowmobiler of the year by that organization. They also loved to hit the road in their travel trailer to visit family and friends that they had made throughout the years. Elmer embraced the Wyoming way of life, he loved to fish, hunt and camp in the outdoors around Dubois. Speaking of fishing Elmer was able to fish in Alaska with his boys and every fish he caught was a “whopper” & going to set a new record. He loved to hunt especially with his boys, he collected rocks, made jewelry, loved to garden and had a zest for the outdoors. Elmer will be missed by everyone that knew him. He always had a sparkle in his eye and a witty comment, loved to play poker and had a cure hiccups at the ready.

He is survived by three sisters: Mary; Carol and husband Bob; Bev and husband Wes; his children: Vicki Barba and husband Ernie; Randy Zenisek and wife Jill; Jeff Zenisek and wife Robin; James and wife Julie. Elmer also leaves behind five grandchildren: Brandon; Jeff; Brett; Jordan and Hunter Zenisek: and also three great grandchildren Zoe; Beckham & Bramlett.

Fudd was preceded in death by his wife and friend Mary “Toots” Zenisek and brother Tony Zenisek
