David Barton Redfern

David Barton Redfern, 74, unexpectedly passed away at his home in Riverton, Wyoming, on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. A reception will follow at the Reach Clubhouse, 622 N 8th W, Riverton, WY.
Dave was born on May 16, 1951, in Fort Morgan, Colorado, to Bill and Ann Redfern. He was raised in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School with the Class of 1970.
On November 19, 1977, he married Karen Devish. Together, they shared 47 years of loving marriage and raised two children, Ryan and Amy.
Dave worked as an electrician, beginning his career with Birkhead Electric and later continuing with Hoffman Electric until his retirement in 2014. He was a devoted family man who deeply loved his children and his grandchildren. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, gardening, bird watching, reading, and taking side-by-side adventures. Dave was also a longtime and proud member of the Elks Club.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Redfern; son, Ryan (Karen Van Horn) Redfern; daughter, Amy (Curt) Paxton; niece, Trista Redfern; grandchildren, Keenen Redfern, Madelyn Redfern, Levi Redfern, Korbin Heil, Easton (Sarah) Paxton, Treyton Paxton, and Parker Paxton; sister-in-law, Louella Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ann Redfern; brother, Brad Redfern; brothers-in-law, Stanley Wilson and Kurt Devish; nephew, Rick Wilson; and his parents-in-law, Marvin and Betty Devish.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Riverton Country Club or Cornerstone Community Church in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 W. Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
