A memorial service for Sharon Elaine Crichton will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Sunnyside Church of the Nazarene in Kinnear, Wyoming. Inurnment will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton at a later date. She passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 in Riverton, Wyoming.
Sharon was born in Douglas, Wyoming, to Robert L. May and Marie B. (Baker) May. She was of the Christian faith.
She began her education in Shawnee, Wyoming, and graduated from Morton High School in Fremont County. In 1965, she moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where she remained until her passing.
On Friday, November 26, 1971, Sharon married James “Gary” Crichton in Vernal, Utah.
She owned and operated Country Cottage from 2011 to 2019. Alongside her husband Gary, she also co-owned Diamond C Trailer Sales, which they continued to operate.
Sharon enjoyed camping, antiquing, traveling, shopping, and supporting youth programs such as 4-H and FFA. She served as the superintendent of the Leather Craft program at the Fremont County Fair. Most of all, she cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, James “Gary” Crichton; sons, Gerald Crichton and wife Jeanna, and David Crichton and wife Randi; grandchildren, Cole (Ashlee) Crichton, Grayce (Colten) Lane, Emma (Micah) Schneider, Jacob (Allie) Wicks, Sarah (Amanda) Fairfield, and Kailea (Nick) Williams; and great-grandchildren, Waverly Johnson, Bodhi Crichton, Sailor Schneider, Cowden Lane, Jonah Wicks, Jasmine Wicks, Carter Williams, and Jaxon Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marie May and her in-laws, Doyle and Grace Spruell.
