Beverly Appelhance

May 12, 1941 - Aug 10, 2025

Beverly “Bev” Marie Appelhance, 84, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton.

She was born on May 12, 1941, in Riverton, Wyoming, to Vern and Marguerite Annetta (McCoy) Stone. Bev graduated from Riverton High School with the Class of 1959. She spent her entire life in the Riverton Valley, except for one year in Denver, Colorado, where she attended business school.

On August 27, 1960, Bev married the love of her life, Raymond Joseph Appelhance, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Riverton. The couple first met during their high school years and shared nearly 65 years of marriage, building a life centered around faith, family, and their farm.

Bev worked for Vogelsang Auto Parts in Riverton and Roll-O-Roper roping equipment in Riverton. Bev and Ray were devoted to operating the family farm and Appelhance Eggs together. She also enjoyed working alongside the Peil family at SonHarvest, where she happily welcomed visitors, helped harvest raspberries, and prepared for the pumpkin patch — a beloved fall tradition in Riverton and the valley that has grown over the years into a joyful gathering place for families and friends.

A woman of many talents, Bev tended a big, beautiful garden and kept an immaculate yard. She loved cooking, polka dancing, and, most of all, caring for her family. She had a gift for making people feel loved and welcomed.

Bev was deeply involved in her church, serving as President of the Riverton Council of Catholic Women (RCCW). She was also a 4-H Leader and was honored as Woman of the Year in Agriculture in 1992.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Appelhance of Riverton; daughter, Lynette Marie Hall and husband Alan; grandchildren, Amy Gardner, Eric Hall and wife Courtney, and Andrew Hall and wife Alex; great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Stephen Gardner, Kane, Korben, Kyran, and Kelven Hall, Robert, Renford, River, Rupert, and Romero Hall; brothers, Clyde Vern Stone and wife Charlene; sisters, Elaine Kay Darnall and husband Glenn, Elise Ann Honeycutt, and Debbie Jean Stone.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Townsley; brother, Stanley Stone; parents, Vern and Marguerite Stone; grandparents, William and Ida McCoy and Harvey and Delia Stone; and parents-in-law, Joe and Rachel Appelhance.

A Vigil with Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the church. Burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton. All are invited to join the family for a dinner at the St. Margaret’s Gym following the graveside service.
