Justin Helton

May 24, 1985 - Aug 15, 2025

Justin A. Helton, 40, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday August 15, 2025.

Justin was born in Riverton Wyoming, on May 24, 1985 to Heather Chamberlain and Corey Helton.

Justin grew up on the farm with his grandparents learning, working, and building his passion for agriculture. He graduated from Shoshoni High School in 2004.

From an early age, Justin was mentored by some of the top agricultural leaders in Fremont County. Who quickly recognized his drive, determination, and gift for farming. Over the years he built a reputation as a hardworking, skilled, and respected farmer who was always willing to lend a hand or share his knowledge. The respect he earned within the agricultural community reflected not only his dedication to his work, but also his integrity and character.

Justin's story began in high school, when he met the love of his life, Traci L. (David) Helton. Their journey began in 2001 when they first crossed paths. Though life took them in different directions for a time, their bond never faded. In 2005, fate brought them back together, rekindling a friendship that would evolve into a love that was destined to last a lifetime. On December 6, 2006 Justin and Traci married surrounded by close family and friends. Together they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and the kind of love that only comes from deep. Justin was a devoted husband to Traci, always there for her with unwavering support, loyalty, and affection.

Their love was built on friendship, laughter, and encouragement, together they expanded his business to include over 1,900 acres of farmland in Fremont County. Their business (Helton Farms) included various amounts of custom work, and their commodities included; pinto beans, grain / silage corn, sugar beets, and was especially known for high quality alfalfa. While in the off season, together they created a successful trucking business known as “Justin Helton Trucking.”

One of Justin's greatest joys was becoming a father to Traci's son, Jaxon Dean Stanley. He welcomed Jaxon into his heart and life as his own, pouring all the love and care he had to offer. Jaxon's interests and passions were always encouraged by Justin, who never missed the opportunity to be there for him. He never failed to include Jaxon and always taught him everything he knew. Justin's role as a father to Jaxon was something he treasures, and the bond between them will live on in Jaxon's heart forever.

In 2008, Justin's joy doubled when he and Traci welcomed their daughter, Payton Rae Helton, into the world. From the moment she was born Justin cherished his little girl and proudly told anyone who would listen about how bright her future ahead of her was. Justin cherished every moment with Payton, always so deeply proud of the person she was becoming. He watched her shine in everything she did while savoring the quiet meaningful moments they spent together. He was constantly in awe of her growth, kindness, and intelligence and never missed the opportunity to tell her how proud of her he was. Payton was truly the light of his life, and he took immense joy in always supporting her. His words, wisdom, love, and support is something that Payton will cherish forever.

Justin also joined the Missouri Valley Fire Department in 2014 as a volunteer fireman and was a county commissioner on the Riverton Valley Irrigation District Board. He was a very proud supporter of the Shoshoni FFA Chapter in which his daughter is the president of.

Aside from the countless hours he dedicated to his work, Justin found pure joy in adventures. Whether it was going to the farm show with his friends, floating the river with all his friends and family, spending the hot day on his sister's boat, or the annual trip to Mexico with his family and always being sure to fly first class.

Justin was larger than life with a personality that drew people in wherever he went. He had a way of filling a room with energy, humor, and warmth, and was truly the life of the party. Friends and family knew that when Justin was around there would be stories told, laughter shared, and memories made. Justin's legacy will live on in the laughter he inspired, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely. He will be remembered not only as a hardworking farmer but as a husband, father, son, brother, and friend who left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him.

Justin is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Traci Lynn Helton; his cherished children, Jaxon Dean Stanley and Payton Rae Helton; parents, Heather Chamberlain and Corey (Marilyn) Helton; sister Faith (Brett) Schuler and niece Emersyn “Emi” Schuler; and grandparents Albert “Buddy” Helton.
