October 1, 2025

Eldon L Mills, 96 of rural Riverton, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held for Eldon on October 25, 2025, at the Missouri Valley Fire Hall from 1pm-3pm. Everyone is welcome to come and visit with family and friends.

He was born on March 19, 1929, in Lynch, Nebraska, the son of Lloyd Erwin and Frances Magdalene(Sedlacek) Mills.

Eldon grew up in Nebraska and on October 6, 1950, married Alyce Marie Carsten. Together they began their life farming and raising a family.

In 1956 Eldon and Alyce moved to Fremont County, Wyoming. There Eldon had the pleasure of working for Mr. Harold Davis, a local farmer in the Missouri Valley area of Fremont County.  Mr. Davis was a lifelong family friend from Nebraska. In addition to farming in the 1960’s Eldon worked for Slago Oil driving a bulk delivery truck.  Eldon dedicated himself to a life of hard work providing for his family.  He took pride in working on and maintaining his tractors and farm equipment. Although the farm took up much of his time and effort Eldon made sure to take the occasional time off to spend with his family, doing activities that the family treasured like fishing, family reunions and picnics. In the later years of his life Eldon and wife Alyce enjoyed time with the Wind River Flywheelers. In the quiet winter months, both enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.

Eldon is survived by his children, Brian (Nancy) Mills, Timothy Mills, Jennifer (Gary) Rees, Samuel (Fran) Mills, Arthur (Kathy) Mills, Sheila (Bert) Hankins, and Rodney (Heather) Mills, numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.

Eldon was preceded in death by his wife Alyce and his parents Lloyd and Frances Mills, his brother Charles Duane Mills and his sister Lavina Kersch-Bishop.

A life well lived Eldon will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his love of farming. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
