Dear Sue and Jack,

I am saddened to hear of the loss of your dear mother even though she lived a very good and long life.

I don't know whether you know this or not, but I have kept in touch with her at least on birthdays and Christmas until this year when I found her phone was no longer in service. I did feel the last couple of times I talked to her she was unsure of who I was, but she sounded just the same to me, and I still liked hearing her dear voice.

Our lives crossed at so many times over the years--at sad and happy times--and I felt she was very much a part of my life. I especially loved our San Francisco years (Alameda and Walnut Creek) when she and I regularly stalked some part of that beautiful city and visited every corner (some that we learned later we should have skipped!)

I send my love and sympathy to all of you with my fondest remembrances.
