Memorial services for Lucille F. Christensen of Riverton are at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Pastor Mike Smith officiates.
Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Mrs. Christensen died at her home in Riverton Thursday evening, July 28, 2011, at the age of 88.
Lucille Fern Hobbs was born in Chadron, Neb., on Aug. 28, 1922, the daughter of Henry Kenneth Hobbs and Vera Pace (Cortis) Hobbs.
She had lived in Riverton for 45 years.
Mrs. Christensen was a homemaker, having married Bert Christensen in Riverton on Sept. 25, 1946. He preceded her in death in Sept. of 2005.
Mr. and Mrs. Christensen traveled extensively and had homes in Jackson Hole, Fountain Hills, Ariz., and spent much time in motor homes on the West Coast.
Her family said Mrs. Christensen loved to sew and was a talented quilt maker, enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making crafts with her children and grandchildren, liked to fish and spend time in the outdoors. They said she once caught a 32 pound fish.
Survivors include sons, Mike Christensen of Rock Springs, Pat Christensen of Riverton, and Andy Christensen of Clayton, N.C..; daughter-in-law, Keri Christensen of Clayton, N.C.; four grandchildren, Sadie Christensen of Riverton, Chris Christensen of Clayton, N.C., Micah Christensen of Riverton, and Cameron Christensen of Clayton, N.C.; one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Christensen; two sisters, and one brother.
