Funeral services for David L. Edelman of rural Riverton are at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Pastor Dan Crider officiates and interment follows at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Viewing will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm Friday at Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Edelman died at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton Monday evening, Oct. 31, 2011, at the age of 95.
David Luther Edelman was born in Balkow, Missouri on Jan. 15, 1916, the son of David Franklin Edelman and Lillian Ruth (Coyner) Edelman. With his parents and grandparents, the family homesteaded north of Casper when he was one year old. He was graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper with the Class of 1934.
He married Mildred Ann Bullock on Aug. 27, 1941, in Mills.
Mr. Edelman was a mail carrier, working out of the Casper post office for 30 years. Shortly after retirement on Dec. 31, 1975, he moved to Riverton.
He was of the Nazarene faith and an active member of the churches in Casper and Riverton.
His family said Mr. Edelman enjoyed his family, raising flowers, fixing things and genealogy.
Survivors include a son, Bob Edelman and his wife Melvalyn of Nampa, ID; a daughter, Betty Crider and her husband Jerry of Riverton; five grandchildren, Scott Edelman and his wife Emily, Kyla Kay and her husband Doug, Kerri Noteboom and her husband Pete, Dan Crider and his wife Dee Dee, and Kristi Mackey and her husband Kenyon; 14 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Mildred, in 1986.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
