Samuel S. Jordan, 65, of Shoshoni, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 at his home. Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 5, 2007, 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Shoshoni. Burial has taken place at the Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Samuel Stuart Jordan was born April 7, 1942 in Pageland, South Carolina to LeRoy Jordan Sr. and Elizabeth (Mangum) Jordan. He grew up in Pageland joining the Navy after graduating Pageland High School.
Mr. Jordan met his future wife Mary Ellen (Hart) Jordan where they were both in the Navy serving as photographers in Washington D.C. They were married December 25, 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho. They moved to Riverton in 1966 and Shoshoni in 1999.
Mr. Jordan’s family said he enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with his family and loved watching and participating in sports while in the Navy. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as President of the Elders Quorum.
Mr. Jordan was a Truck Driver for B.T.I., Crete, and various other trucking companies. For the past five years he worked for Maddock Enterprises of Shoshoni.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen of Shoshoni; sons, Cody and wife Dee of Bonham, Texas, Layne and wife Mary of Shoshoni, Hart and wife Annie of Saratoga, Jason and wife Sarah of Cheyenne, Nathan and wife Kami of Riverton, Guy and wife Maggie of Laramie; daughter, Beth and husband Erin Fazendin of Saratoga; 15 grandchildren; brother LeRoy Jordan, Jr. of Pageland, South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Dustin Les Jordan, and grandson Cam Paxton Jordan.
