Francesca L. Teton, 28, of Fort Washakie died at the Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper on Monday, April 16, 2012.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie. Arlen Shoyo and Harrison "Bunny" Shoyo, Jr., officiate. Interment is in the Sacajawea Cemetery at Fort Washakie.
A wake begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Rocky Mountain Hall.
Francesca Lee Teton was born in Lander on Sept. 14, 1983, the daughter of Augustine and Deleece (Pogoree) Teton. She was a member of the Shoshone Tribe who attended school at Fort Washakie and Chemawa Indian School in Salem, Oregon.
She was baptized in the Episcopalian faith.
Ms. Teton was a homemaker. Her family said she enjoyed her home life and being with her children, family, and friends.
She is survived by her companion, George Thomas Brown; son, Monnie Kane Jenkins Teton; daughters, Nyra Jenkins and Tyra Jenkins; parents, Deleece Teton, Augustine Teton and his companion Joline; sisters, Jessica Teton and Jan Pogoree; nephews, Boyd Surrell, Nathan Surrell, Wendell Surrell, and Darrell Teton; nieces, Dalene Pogoree, Sinead Pogoree, and Jevon Antelope; Arlene Pogoree and family, the Nipwater family, Zedor Enos and family, and Vivian Armajo and family.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Lee Brown Teton; a sister, Corina Sorrell; nephew, Ethan Surrell; brother-in-law, Arvin Surrell; grandparents, Charlie and Alvina Teton, Wilford Woodsie Wagon, Thomas Wetchie; uncles, Wayland Wetchie, Avery Perry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
