Carl H. Christopherson, 81, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012.
A memorial services is at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shoshoni.
Carl Henry Christopherson was born in Meeteetse on June 12, 1930, the seventh of 16 children born to Joseph and Coral May Christopherson.
He grew up on his father's ranch and worked in the coal mines located on the property.
He joined the U.S. Army in 1952 and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Christopherson married Kay Saralie Lohrenz in August of 1954. They raised three children in Wyoming.
Mr. Christopherson worked in various occupations including ranching, farming, and his last, but favorite, job was owning and driving a semi-truck for several years with his wife as a team.
The couple moved to Shoshoni in 1995 and she preceded him in death by less than five month.
The couple enjoyed writing songs and putting them to music.
Mr. Christopherson is survived by his daughter, Joni Kay Prymek and her husband Roy of West Jordan, Utah; sons, John Phil Christopherson and his wife Kelly of Cheyenne, and Carl Jeffrey Christopherson and his wife Martha of Salem, Oregon; four grandchildren, John Carl Schrage and his wife Cara, Amelia Kay Phetteplace and her husband Randy, Samantha Saralie Christopherson, and Christian Robert Christopherson; brothers, Myron Christopherson, Oscar Christopherson, Dan Christopherson, Rollin Christopherson, and sisters, Dahi Badura and Connie Cook.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Christopherson; his parents; brothers, Charlie, Orvin, Phil, Gartha, Fred, and Mark; sisters, Roxie Jessie, and Iris.
