Lois H. Hughes, 83, died peacefully with family and friend by her side July 10, 2012 at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander, WY. Graveside services will be held at Mt. View Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012.
Lois Helen Robinson was born to Carlos Robinson and Nora (Flaugh) Robinson on September 1, 1928 in Cuyoga Falls, Ohio.
She married her best friend, Glenn L. Hughes, in Billings, Montana on November 8, 1948. They had three children. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1984.
After raising her children, Lois worked for Kathryn Gray for approximately six years. Following her husband’s passing, she ran a rural postal route in the Pavillion area for many years until moving to Riverton. Her greatest pleasure was working for the Foster Grandparents Program for twenty years. She loved all the children she helped, especially the ones at Ashgrove Elementary School. Lois enjoyed doing all kinds of puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Hughes and his wife, Jackie; her daughter, Carol Dickinson all of Riverton and her daughter, Shirley Siek and her husband, Dennis of Douglas, WY; her brother, Chester Robinson and his wife Margaret of Wheatbridge, CO. Lois is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Kenneth Robinson; son-in-law, Daryl Dickinson and several aunts and uncles.
