Funeral services for Walter John Brown, 42, will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Blue Sky Hall with Father John Gaffney officiating. Interment will follow at Whiteplume Cemetery. A rosary will be held 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 30th at Blue Sky Hall with a wake to follow.
Mr. Brown died July 27, 2012 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming.
He was born November 8, 1969 in Lander, Wyoming, son of Jerome J. Brown and Elvina Buckman.
Walter was a member of the Northern Arapaho Tribe and the Catholic Church. At the time of his death he resided in Arapahoe, Wyoming with his family. He lived in Hardin, MT for 12 years, during this time he married Lisa BadBear of Hardin, MT. Walter worked as a manager for an apartment complex while caring for his wife after she became disabled in 2002. Walter also resided in Portland, OR, Billings, MT, Browning, MT, Fort Washakie, WY, Riverton, WY and Colorado Springs, Co.
Walter enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always helped care for family members from young to old. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, swimming, gardening, visiting and playing slots. He especially enjoyed taking the kids out for activities, listening to music, barbeque cooking with own sauces and fixing special salads. He also loved spending time with his faithful dog, Pocko.
Survivors include his mother, Elvina Buckman, brothers, Marty and Bryan Brown and Myka Blackburn; sister, Michelle J. Brown; nephews, Salvador Brown, Kevin and Reece Blackburn; nieces, Alana, Martina, and Laura Brown, Annamae, Mia, and Mayla Blackburn; maternal aunts, Leona, Marion, Beatrice and Elva Buckman, and Georgetta Revere; maternal uncles Clayton RunningCrane, Leo and Wesley Monroe, Leonard and George Moss and Ted Washington; paternal aunts, Georgine and Pam Brown, Alvina Aragon, Valerie Friday, Luella Monroe, Lou Oldman, Terry Teran, Pam SixFeathers, Benita Smith; paternal uncles, Frank Mead, Howard Brown, Steven M. Oldman, Sr., Virgil Oldman, Ernest Oldman, Sr.; grandparents, Evangeline Mead, Flossy Brown, Wayne and Connie Brown, Rueben and Bonnie Jenkins. Walt had numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and grandkids.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Brown, niece, Mary Jane Blackburn, father, Jerry Brown, grandparents, John and Laura Buckman, Maria Oldman, Roseline Addison and numerous relatives.
