Ora Mae Whiteplume, 86, of Araphoe died Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton.
Funeral service with viewing will be Thursday, September 13, 2012, 6:00 p.m. at Davis Funeral Home with Ray Price of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Lander officiating. According to her wishes cremation will follow the service.
Ora Mae Gould was born June 28, 1926 in Colony, Oklahoma to Perry and Gertrude (Cleveland) Gould. She grew up and was raised in Colony. She Married Jule Whiteplume in Lander together they moved to Ethete and built their first home and raised their family.
In addition to being a homemaker and raising a big family she had also worked for the Arapaho Senior Citizens for many years. She belonged to the Yellow Calf Memorial Club and served as President for many years, member of St. Michaels’ Episcopal Church and sang with the Eagle Drum Group.
Her family said she enjoyed the outdoors, yard work, and taking care of her flowers. She especially loved having her family around.
Survivors include her sons, William Whiteplume and his wife, Rose, Robin Whiteplume and his wife, Peggy, and Keith Whiteplume; daughters, Sue Petsch, Sandra Osborne and her husband, Floyd, Ricki Martinez and her husband, Lambert, Paula Whiteplume and her husband, Ridge Brown, and Pauline John and her husband, Leonard; sisters, Daisy Green and Myrtle Clausson; 25 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
Ora was preceded in death by her husband, Jule Whiteplume, daughter, Kathy Noisyhawk, sons, Jule Whiteplume, Teddy Whiteplume, and Tommy Wayne Night Walker, brothers, Bill and Bob Gould.
