Longtime Riverton resident, Jill Marie Riel, 26, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, Monday, March 11, 2013 in Worland, Wyoming. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Reach Foundation, 622 N 8th W, Riverton, WY.
Born Jill Marie Gregory on September 3, 1986, in Riverton, Wyoming to Glen and Sally Gregory. Everyday since she was born, she had a way with people. Her smile lit up a room and would get everyone else to smile too; she was just like sunshine. To know her was to love her. She grew up in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School in 2005. While growing up, you could always find our Jilly Bean out with her horses; they were second in her life, only to her family. Jill was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and her faith was very important in her life. She enjoyed the mountains, hunting, camping, fishing and “go buggying” with her family and friends.
Jill married Shane Riel on March 5, 2011. He became the love of her life first on her list. On that day, not only did Jill become a wife, she gained 2 beautiful daughters and a son, whom she loved very much. Mama Jill is what they called her. She then made Cody, Wyoming her home.
Survivors include her husband, Shane of Cody; her step-children, Damon, Justeen and Brianna; parents, Glen and Sally Gregory; sister, Erin; brother, Jason and his family Jessie, Juston and Eden; brother, Glen and his family, Millie, Holly and Colton; all of Riverton; brother, Jeremy and his family Rachel, Mark and Jared of Pinedale, WY. Jill also left behind her dog Paco her Little Man. Family always came first in her life and she loved them very much.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
