Elmer “Skinny” Sorrels, 78, of Boulder Flat, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at his home.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held, as were his wishes.
Elmer Dee Sorrels was born in Oak Hill, OK on February 8, 1935 to Willie and Pearly (McDonald) Sorrels. He attended grade school in Hugo, OK. He graduated from Haskell Institute in Lawrence, KS where his participated in football.
He moved to Wyoming and worked at U.S. Steel until it closed. He enjoyed his retirement by ranching and gardening. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Zella; his sons, Robert E Sorrels of Gillette, WY and James R Sorrels of El Paso, TX; his daughters, Letha (PJ) Shakespeare of Ft. Washakie, WY, Jamie K Sorrels of Ft. Washakie, WY, and Davene Guina of Ft. Washakie, WY; his sister, Avis Gladek, of Oceanside, CA; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Pearly Sorrels; his son, Elmer Jefferson; his brothers, Haskell, Edward, Daniel, and James; his sisters, Margaret Powlas and Bertha DeRoin; and his grandson, Scott.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home.
