Marvin V. Foster, longtime resident of Lander and Hudson, died of natural causes Sunday, June 2, 2013, at Lander Valley Regional Medical Center. He was 87 years old. Per his request, cremation has taken place, and there will be no services. Marvin Vern Foster was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Hugh and Mildred Foster. He had four sisters, Maxine Schamber, Donna Pince, Joyce DePaolo and Janet Willy, and two brothers, Larry Foster and Melvin Foster. He also had numerous nephews and nieces. He worked for and retired from Brasel & Sims, a construction company of Lander. He was a valuable and reliable heavy equipment operator and truck driver. On Dec. 23, 1966, he married Audry E. Foster. His family said he loved the mountains and outdoor life. He enjoyed spending time with family, camping, hunting, fishing, chariot racing, riding, and raising horses and other livestock. They said he was a wonderful and loving family man and friend, and he was loved and respected by many friends and family. He is survived by his daughters, Theresa M. Foster, Annette Stiner and her husband William Stiner, DeAnna Deibert, Laurie Mitchell, Deborah Amend, Marva Humpal, Marcia McBeath and Sheila McCrea; son William Leanard and his wife Roxanne; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Mildred Foster; wife Audry E. Foster; son Lawrence Foster; sisters Maxine Schamber and Donna Pince; and brothers Larry Foster and Melvin Foster.
