Sherry Lynn Harris of Medford, Oregon, formerly of Riverton, died on March 10, 2013 at the age of 59 in Medford at Providence Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on June 21, 2013 at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Sherry was born on February 28, 1953 in Riverton to Sarah “Jill” (Lester) and William “Bill” Chopping. She grew up in Riverton and graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1972. She was the eldest of 4 children. Sherry married Howard Harris on February 9, 1973. They had two sons, Donovan and Aaron Harris. Sherry attended ITI Business School in Boise, Idaho and got an executive assistant degree. She also took some accounting classes at UW while she worked there. She worked as an office manager for three different medical clinics at two of Colorado’s major ski resorts. She was also the office manager for a municipal water and sewer district. Sherry was forced to retire in 2003 due to declining health.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Howard of Medford, OR, sons Donovan and wife Michelle of Oak Harbor, WA, and Aaron Harris of Boise, ID, mother and stepfather Jill and Jerry White of Riverton, sister Karen Dick and husband Cliff of Lakewood, CO, sister Connie Gantenbein and husband Scott of Riverton, grandchildren Britni and Jacob Harris of Oak Harbor, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, brother Ronnie, and nephew William Duty. Sherry was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed going to church and attending church activities. She loved hummingbirds and always grew beautiful flowers.
