Her family moved to Shoshoni because her dad, Raymond Zawicki, worked for Morrison-Knudson at Boysen Dam. After her graduation her parents and she moved to Clark Fork, Idaho, as her father was working on Cabinet George Dam. In 1952 she married Marvin Comes. They moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1953. They had three children doing this time, and Marvin worked for Halliburton as a frac-operator for 13 ½ years. Once the children started school, Carol worked for Natrona County High School for 8 ½ years, along with doing secretarial work for their business. When they moved to Hudson, she began to work for the State Of Wyoming, Department of Family Services in Lander for 13 ½ years until they both retired. They ended up having four grandsons, and one granddaughter. In 1994, they sold their business and small ranch and retired. Upon retiring, they bought a motor home and traveled for several years. After that they bought a home and settled in Shoshoni, Wyoming. They both enjoyed retirement, traveling, fishing, being around family and friends and volunteering at the Shoshoni Senior Center. After her husband, Marvin passed away in 2006, she remained in Shoshoni, Wyoming for a short period of time. Due to decline of her health she then moved to Scottsbluff Nebraska, to be taken care of by her grandson Steve Michael Rea and Shannon Rammage. Carol had fond memories of her time in Shoshoni High School, for example senior sneak days in South Dakota, initiation day as a freshman where she helped paint the “S” on the water tank hill, and being in plays and sporting activities. Carol always was caring and very kind. She had a wonderful smile and a love that most people would be envious of for her husband. In the last final years of her life she got to enjoy her two great-grandsons; Landon and Bear, and her great-granddaughter Bailee.
