Graveside services for former Riverton resident Gale E. Gropp of Spring Creek, Nev., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton.
Mr. Gropp died on Friday, Dec. 14, at the age of 50.
Funeral services were Thursday morning, Dec. 20, at Burns Funeral Home in Elko, Nev.
Gale Eugene Gropp was born on Feb. 18, 1957, in Spokane, Wash., the son of Gerald and Marilyn Gropp. He was graduated from Priest River High School in Idaho in 1974.
He then moved to the Gas Hills of Wyoming, working here for Federal-American Partners as a drill operator in the uranium mines. He then moved to Ticaboo, Utah, and worked for Plateau Resources for a short time.
He had lived in the Elko, Nev., area for the past 23 years, where he worked for Newmont as a heavy equipment mechanic.
His family said Mr. Groop was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sports as much as he could.
He is survived by his son, Gared of Spring Creek, Nev.; mother, Marilyn Gropp of Riverton; brother Greg and his wife Janet, and niece, Chelsea of Spring Creek.
Mr. Groop was preceded in death by his father, Gerald; brother, Gary; paternal grandparents, Harry and Frieda Groop; maternal grandparents, Charles and Lu Adams
