Charles “Don” Boles, 85, of Riverton died on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Riverton Memorial Hospital. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held.

Charles Vincent Boles was born on September 24, 1927 in Masury, OH to Herbert and Elsie (Atwood) Boles.

On December 13, 1945 he enlisted in the US Navy serving on the USS Hanson and the USS YMS-56, he received the WWII Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on October 22, 1947. The next day he re-enlisted in the US Marine Corp and served until being honorably discharged for the second time on August 14, 1951.

On April 22, 1953 in Norwalk, OH he married Romona Carol Sipes. Together they had three children. And this year celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

In 1998 Romona and he moved to Riverton from Grand Junction, CO.

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a past member of the Eagles.

His family said he enjoyed fishing, hiking, boating, collecting rocks, photography, woodworking, making furniture, and painting artwork.

He is survived by his wife, Romona of the family home; his sons, Steve (Cherry) Boles of Riverton and Charles Boles, Jr. of Modesto, CA; his daughter, Carol Timmons of Riverton; and 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
