Virginia I. Loree died Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, after a lengthy illness. She was 91 years old.
Memorial services will be Friday, Nov. 22,at 2:00 pm, at Davis Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Case will officiate.
Virginia I. Loree was born May 11, 1922, in Lander, the daughter of Dudley A. and Nelle (Davis) Ballinger.
She grew up in Iowa and eventually returned to Wyoming where she graduated from Lander Valley High School. She went on to attend St. Anthony’s School of Nursing in Carroll, Iowa.
She married William (Bill) Loree of Riverton, and the couple moved to the Des Moines, Coon Rapids area of Iowa and eventually ended up in Pasadena, Texas. While there, Mrs. Loree worked as an industrial nurse.
Due to health issues, the couple retired early and returned to Wyoming where they built their dream log cabin overlooking the mountains that Mrs. Loree loved.
She and her family were active members of St. Pius V. Catholic Church and School. Her family said she was a deeply religious person, and she read and studied her Bible daily. She also had a deep love for God’s grandeur and beautiful countryside.
Her family said she loved to travel the country visiting her family and friends. She passed along her love of picturesque views to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family said she was a voracious reader, and she was always working on a knitting or crocheting project. She loved to cook and bake, was an avid supporter of the arts, and was exceptionally proud of her children and grandchildren. Her family said she will be greatly missed and was the epitome of what unconditional love looked like, and she helped to instill that quality into the lives she touched.
She is survived by her son, Kins W. Loree; daughter Sheridan Loree Major of Bryan, Texas, and Riverton; grandsons David L. Loree II and his wife Milena of Katy, Texas, Brian C. Loree of Baytown, Texas, Eric D. Wallace and his wife Brandie of Marlin, Texas, and Steven P. Fullmer and Trina Gonzales of Riverton; granddaughters Donna (Loree) McCall Maierhofer and her husband Troy of LaPorte, Texas, and Tiffany (Wallace) Silverthorne and her husband Kevin of Arlington, Texas; great-grandchildren Zachary and Cody Loree of Katy, Texas, Ethan and Dillon McCall of LaPorte, Texas, Nathan Dixon (Fullmer) of Dallas, Texas, Destiny Barrett of Green River, Harmony Fullmer of Green River, Acis C. Fullmer of Riverton, and Paige Solis, Matthew, Robert Coy (R.C.), Barrett, and Isabel (Izzy) Wallace of Marlin, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews in Iowa; and honorary family members Kimberly Shelton and her sons Greg and Bobby of Rockdale, Texas, and Shelly (Kramer) Wurm and her family of Green River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dudley A. and Nelle Ballinger; brother David Ballinger; husband William (Bill) Loree; son David L. Loree I; grandson Eric D. Wallace; and beloved great-grandpet Mr. Kitty.
