Rosalie Elizabeth (Cornwell) Gordon of Riverton, died Saturday, May 10, 2014. Per her request, cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will be at a later date. She was 93 years old.
Rosalie Elizabeth Cornwell was born January 19, 1921 in Clifton, WY the daughter of Lynn Adams and Lizzie B. (Hanson) Cornwell. She was one of seven children. Growing up in New Castle, she attended school there.
With her family, they moved to Lander in 1938. Rosalie graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School with the class of 1939.
She worked for the National Youth Administration part time and the Selective Service Office full time. She also worked for the Forest Service.
On June 16, 1941 in Lander, she married the love of her life, Gale Odean Gordon. Together they raised three children, Gary, Kenneth, and Elizabeth. She was a full time homemaker and loving wife.
They lived in Lander, Hudson, Casper, and Sand Draw for 37 years. Then they moved to Dubois in 1983 till 2009 and then to Riverton.
Rosalie and Gale had more than 71 years together before Gale passed away on the 6th of December 2012.
Rosalie enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing, camping and fishing. She was also a very good cook and enjoyed cooking the country way of her mom.
She loved going to church and reading her bible. She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She will be missed by the family.
She is survived by her sons, Gary and his wife Linda of Lander and Kenneth and his wife Kathy of Riverton; her daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Douglas of Riverton; her grandchildren, DeAnna and David, Kelly and Rod, Gary and Leslie, Kevin and Tina, Michelle and Brian, Karmen, Amy, Jennifer, and Corey; and her 21 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Gordon; her parents, Lynn and Lizzie Cornwell; her three sisters, Alice, Eloise, and Lois; and her three brothers, Gordon, Allen, and Neal.
