Funeral services for Joe Billy Roden will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton. Pastor Cleve McSwain of the United Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton will military honors by the Wyoming National Guard.
Mr. Roden died at his home in Riverton on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at the age of 78.
Joe Billy Roden was born in Grand Junction, Colo., on Dec. 17, 1929, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Roden.
Mr. Roden served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Mamie Thayne on Dec. 9, 1950. She preceded him in death on March 22, 1999.
Mr. Roden worked as a heavy equipment operator, including 30 years for Pathfinder Mines. Prior to that he worked in Alaska.
He was a life-member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3628 in Riverton.
Mr. Roden's family said he was an avid sports fan, including baseball, basketball, and football. They said he loved Harleys and owned four Harley Davidson motorcycles.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Roden and his wife Debbie of Chico, Calif., and Mike Roden of Gillette; two grandchildren, Lisa Vasco and Brian Roden; a brother, Gary Roden of Powell.
Services are under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home of Riverton.
