Rita McLaughlin, 67, of Riverton, died on Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Morning Star Manor. A memorial service will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 am.
Rita Mae Parmly was born on February 18, 1947 in Bozeman, MT to Leon Miller and Audrey (Hines) Parmly. She was one of four children. She attended schools in Bozeman and graduated from high school with the class of 1966.
She was of the Methodist faith.
On February 25, 1967 in Bozeman, MT, she married her husband of 47 years, Bill McLaughlin. Together they raised six children, four boys and two girls. The family lived in Montana before moving to Wyoming 37 years ago.
She worked a Homecare nurse in her younger years. In 1995 she retired, after over twelve years as an EMT from the Riverton area ambulance services. Not one to stay home after retirement she went to work for Wal-Mart for another twelve years before retiring again.
She was a lifetime member of the Eagles better known at the “Golden Age Eagles”.
Her family said that she enjoyed crafts, knitting, leatherwork, and really enjoyed baking candies. She loved camping and anything that involved being with her family. She made friends easily and had many.
She is survived by her husband, Bill McLaughlin of the family home; her sons, Joseph (Lisa) McLaughlin, William (Mairia) McLaughlin, Lesley McLaughlin, and Dustin (DeAnna) McLaughlin; her daughters, Melissa (Tom) Lang and Kimberley (William) Jackson; her brother, Bob Wolmack; and her 14 grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Audrey Parmly; her brother, Arlo Parmly and her sister, Marla Reynolds.
