George Gildehous 94, of Riverton died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. George was born June 16, 1920 to George Austin and Nancy Maude (Werst) Gildhouse in Topeka, Kansas. He was one of seven children.
George was a veteran of the US Navy and served on the USS Merilac during WWII which rescued downed aircraft during Pearl Harbor. He later worked for Lockheed Martin building missiles for airplanes.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, rock hunting, gold mining and played several musical instruments.
George’s cremains will be inurned at the Oregon State Veterans Cemetery in Casper at a later date.
