Billy Charles Burch, age 90, of Riverton, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation – Wind River. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and private family services will take place at a future date.

Billy was born on March 26, 1924 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Jasper Cleveland and Mattie Jane (Caldwell) Burch. He graduated high school with the Class of 1942 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

He was a WWII veteran, serving with the U.S. Army in Europe. He was honorably discharged.

After discharge from the army he went to work for Standard Oil/Amoco Pipeline, his employer for 41 years until his retirement.

On June 8, 1948 he married Lois Aileen Binegar in North Platte, Nebraska. The Reverend Bert L. Story performed the ceremony. After they were married they lived in Baggs, Wyoming, Craig, Colorado, Rawlins, Wyoming, Thermopolis, Wyoming, and in 1965 they moved to Riverton. They raised three children.

His family said he enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, camping, wood carving, and was also a rock-hound who cut and polished rock.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois, of Riverton; his sons, Steven Charles Burch and his wife Kim, of Winnemucca, Nevada and Thomas Lynn Burch of Riverton; his daughter, Susan Dianne Heermann and her husband Lee, of Riverton; his brother Donald Gene Burch of Cleveland, Minnesota; nephews John Burch of Columbus, Montana, David Burch of Cleveland, Minnesota, and niece Patty Trautwein of Combined Locks, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Mattie Burch, and a brother Jay Burch.
