Sally Long, 74, of Pavillion, died at her Granddaughter’s home in Riverton on Sunday, December 28, 2014 surrounded by loved ones. A viewing will be on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Davis Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Warm Valley Baptist Church in Pavillion. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Sally Ann Doiel was born on May 5, 1940 in Sidney, IA to William Guy and Lovina Mae (Stitt) Doiel. The youngest of seven children, she attended schools in Omaha, NE and graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1958.
The Christmas of 1975 she moved to Wyoming from Iowa settling near Pavillion. She made her home there where she raised her girls and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Warm Valley Baptist Church in Pavillion and was very active in many different areas of the church.
She owned and operated the Unique Boutique and then she worked for the Riverton Police Department through the Senior Citizens Center for two years. She also served as an election judge for many years.
Her family said that she loved holidays, birthdays, and large family get-togethers. She adored her family which included all her girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, reading, making holiday goodies, and cooking for a crowd. She loved to collect just about everything and had a weakness for teddy bears with a collection that numbered over 2,000.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Trask, Kim Snyder, Brenda Trask, Tracy Trask, and Shelby Long; eleven of her twelve grandchildren, Stephanie, Tonya, Jodi, Mandi, Jason, Misti, Calvin, Cari, Lacie, Cory, and Justin; her 23 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, an infant daughter, and her grandson Jesse Pedersen.
