Ruth E. Portschy of Riverton died Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at her home. She was 72 years old.
Cremation has taken place and no funeral services will be held, according to her wishes.
Ruth Elizabeth Kehm was born on Oct. 15, 1935, in Casper to Leo Kehm and Ruth Jane (Tressler) Kehm. She lived in Powder River for a year and then moved to Riverton Valley where her father homesteaded.
She was graduated from Riverton High School in 1953. The same year, she went to work for the Farmers Home Administration where she worked for 13 years. She lived in Riverton for 72 years.
On Nov. 7, 1956 she marred Fritz Portschy in Billings, Mont.
In 1966, she quit working to stay home to care for her son and also did the bookkeeping for Fritz's Body Shop and Fritz's Repair Shop, which the family owned.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Her family said Mrs. Portschy enjoyed crocheting, reading, spending time in the mountains, snowmobiling, and her dog.
Survivors include her husband, Fritz; son, Michael and his wife Nicki; grandson, Michael Portschy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Leo Kehm, and her brother, Joe Kehm.
